Why is it delivery estimates are always left right to the last minute?
when a plumber/electrician or a delivery says they will be there between 8am and 5pm they always turn up at 4.30 so you stay in all day for nothing?
This has happened to me and it is annoying. No one wants to burn through a vacation day to sit around and wait for someone.
One option that I’ve tried is to call the company and ask if the driver/contractor can call you when he’s on his way to your house. I recently ordered kitchen cabinets and for delivery number 1, I waited until 5:00 for the delivery and had to take the day off from work. For the rest of the deliveries, I called the dispatch office, and the driver called me on my cell when he was about 20-30 minutes from my house. This way I could work and just went over to my house, met him at the door, he dropped off the stuff, and I went back to work.
